History Trivia: Happy 178th birthday to Otto Lilienthal, the Glider King. Otto was born on May 23 1848. He was the first person to make well-documented, repeated, successful flights with gliders, therefore making the idea of heavier-than-air aircraft a reality. 

99 years ago, on May 26, 1927 Henry Ford and his son Edsel drove the fifteen millionth and final Ford Model T out of the factory marking the end of production for the revolutionary automobile.

Car/Motorcycle Show News:   The Laytonsville Cruise In is the place to be on a Friday night in Montgomery County.  The Laytonsville Cruise In was started by Harry in 2010. It has become one of the most popular cruise ins in the area. You can follow Harry on Facebook for daily updates during the many shows and events he attends.

May 15 was the official opening night of the Laytonsville Cruise In and it was the first award night of season 17. Kraemer Aviation Services sponsored free ice cream for each driver and one guest. There were over 100 vehicles there on May 15.

May 17 Harry attended Classic Motorcycle Day in Mt. Airy Maryland. Our 1912 AC Delivery Trike was entered in the show and it won a second place award in it’s category. Click here for more pictures from the show.

Earlier in May, Harry attended the Devin Battley Celebration of Life and the former Battley Cycles dealership building. It was a final farewell to a legendary motorcycle racer and a prominent figure in the motorcycle industry. Click here for more pictures of the Devin Battley Celebration of Life.

Devin was one of the initial financial investors that helped start the Buell Motorcycle Co. Devin was also an investor in Corbin Motors, the electric 3 wheeler. Devin was one of the first dealerships to sell the Corbin Sparrow (pictured below).

Animals in the headlines: Earlier this month, Harry spotted a Blue-tailed Skink on the steps of the flight school. These are usually too quick to snap a picture, so this is a rare sight.
