AACA Meet at Hershey 2011

The Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) held their annual car show and swap meet/flea market in Hershey, PA this past weekend.  For those of you that have not had a chance to go to this event it is something to put on your list of things to see.  There is so much to see, the size of it is overwhelming. Here are some highlights from this year’s event.

If you need to get indoors to get out of the cold or heat, or rain you can visit the museum.  On some evenings during the weeklong event you can even get food at the museum.  This year the museum had some of Peter Maier’s art work on displayFor more on Peter click here.  If its parts that you’re looking for the flea market is the place for you.  I believe that you could purchase a frame at the flea market and find enough parts to build a complete vehicle and drive it home.

The anti automotive folks may enjoy a tour of the Hershey Factory in Chocolate World.  Keep your eyes open for celebrities.  We spotted Wayne Carini from Chasing Classic Cars.

In an earlier news letter I reported on the Lee Roy Hartung collection that is to be auctioned off in November.  We were able to see a sample of some of the vehicles.

If it is cars that you came to see then the car show on Saturday is the place to be.  For those wanting to purchase a car visit the car coral for hundreds of cars for sale.  If you like fire trucks you’ll find many nice examples at the show.

The big event on Saturday morning is the parade of cars entering the show grounds – see video below.
