Description

Client’s offer:
Our offer is $15,000.

Our feeling is that I should offer $12,500 in cash as a deposit.
I plan to bring a mechanic and landing gear parts.
I we can fly it out of there without a wing replacement then I will pay an additional $2,500.00 cash, otherwise, I will eat into that $2,500 portion to get the job done or trailered out.
Title must clear through AOPA's title and I will pay up to an additional $400 to clear up any residual title issues should they appear.

The big problem is the Unairworthy sign-off in the logbook however unfair it may be.

(if things go really easy (out of there in one day), as I hope they might, I could be swayed to add an additional 10% to help cover commission.)

I would really like to keep this plane flying.

I am working on the draft purchase agreement. I have a few
questions and comments:

I am just going to write the agreement for $15,000 with the
condition that if the wing is not airworthy the offer will be $12,500. Is
this ok with you?

Please give me the name and address of the purchaser.

Do you plan to order the title search report?

Do you plan to use an escrow company? Usually the fee for the
escrow company is paid by the party requesting the escrow company. My
company can act as the escrow company and accept the payment on
behalf of the seller. This can be written in to the purchase agreement.

When do you plan to start the work and pay for the aircraft?
I should get a deposit, usually this is 10 percent of the purchase
price. Given the unusual circumstances and the fact that you plan
to bring your own A&P, I will reduce the deposit to $700 which is just
under half. Is that agreeable with you?

Customer’s reply
15000, then 12500, If I must trailer it out or replace the wing.
I will be fair too. Sometimes on Title there are old items which do
not directly impact the transfer. I have participated in clearing
those. I am going to call AOPA.
Thanks,
