Detailed Information
Detailed Description
Kings Point Tug Boat. The 3,000-horsepower Vane Brothers tug KINGS POINT was delivered in 2015 as the 10th tug contracted through Chesapeake Shipbuilding of Salisbury, Maryland. Purpose-built to move petroleum barges, she is the sister tug of the FELLS POINT, which was delivered one year earlier and is currently operating in the New York area. The name KINGS POINT pays homage to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, which is located in Kings Point, New York. Since the beginning of this year, she has been operating primarily in Baltimore as a training tug for future Vane Brothers mates. The tug’s design comes from Frank Basile of Entech and Associates of Houma, Louisiana.
Engine Specs
