The passenger car on display at the museum's outdoor display is a Budd Rail Diesel Car (RDC), also known as the Budd car or Buddliner, is a self-propelled diesel multiple unit (DMU) railcar. It was built in 1953 and it has seating 70 passengers. It was designated as #1951. It has had other designations over the years: B&O 6551, B&O 9932, B&O 9822, and MARC 3. This was purchased by B&O in 1956 where it served until 1970. In 1980, it was sold to the Maryland Dept of Transportation. It operated as part of MARC running on the Brunswick Line with stops in Gaithersburg until it was retired in 1989. At one point, it did experience a fire due to excess carbon buildup in the exhaust pipers from larger fuel injectors being installed. This type of car became popular after WWII, many rail lines, including the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad had a large decline in passengers, so rail lines purchased RDCs. They primarily served the Washington - Baltimore routes as well as the Brunswick line. This car was delivered to the museum on January 13 2012 after being restored at the B&O Museum in Baltimore. The restoration was completed by Exhibit Hues.

It was delivered to the museum in 1998.
