There is a story online about John Martin III that set off from Alaska in a Walker Bay 8 trying to make it to China. He sailed down the Yukon River and out into the Bering Sea. He never made it to China, he ended up in Russia and they were not pleased to see him. He ended up in a Russian jail for sometime. However, the boat held up just fine.
