A 2022 Sportster. 2022 was the last year for this iconic bike. Harley Davidson discontinued the air cooled Sportster. The 2023 model is a liquid-cooled bike.
The Harley-Davidson Sportster is a line of motorcycles produced continuously since 1957 by Harley-Davidson. Sportster models are designated in Harley-Davidson's product code by beginning with "XL". In 1952, the predecessors to the Sportster, the Model K Sport and Sport Solo motorcycles, were introduced. These models K, KK, KH, and KHK of 1952 to 1956 had a sidevalve ('flat head') engine, whereas the later XL Sportster models use an overhead valve engine. The first Sportster in 1957 had many of the same features of the KH including the frame, fenders, large gas tank and front suspension.

Detailed Information
Detailed Description
Harley Davidson Sportster. The last year for the traditional, air-cooled Harley-Davidson Sportster was 2022, with the final Evolution-engine models (like the Iron 883 and Forty-Eight) rolling off the line that year before the platform shifted to the liquid-cooled Revolution Max engine for newer models like the Nightster and Sportster S. Harley-Davidson officially ended production of the iconic air-cooled Evo Sportsters in late 2022 to meet modern emissions standards, though they were phased out in Europe earlier due to Euro 5 rules.
Engine Specs
Evolution-engine
Sportster motorcycles are powered by a four-stroke, 45° V-twin engine in which both connecting rods, of the "fork and blade" or "knife & fork" design, share a common crank pin. The original Sportster engine was the Ironhead engine, which was replaced with the Evolution engine in 1986.
