Our Market Watch section is an online searchable database and it is smart phone friendly. It was set up as a database for vehicle price data; however we have added other collectibles as well. For example, under “Make” you can search for Paul McCartney for price data related to Paul McCartney collectibles. You can also use the database to see what celebrity ownership of a vehicle does to the value. For example, under “Model” search for Trans Am, click here to view the results. You can also search the Market Watch for famous/well know collections that have sold, for example, here is the data for the Bruce Weiner Microcar Auction. And here is the data for the Lee Roy Hartung collection that sold years ago. We have also included price data from TV shows such as Jay Lenos Garage, American Pickers, and others, simply search under “Make” for Jay Lenos Garage and click on search. The database allows you to compare asking price, book value, actual sale price, etc. You can also view offers versus sale price. Click here to view offers versus sale price. The database includes aircraft, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, collectibles, avionics, engines, car parts, aircraft parts, and more.

Mack |
Dump Truck |
1927 |
$60,000 |
From Bring A Trailer. May 9, 2017 —
$150K Restoration: 1927 Mack Model AB Dump Truck
This 1927 Mack Model AB has been restored to the tune of roughly $150,000 according to the seller, and though no receipts are mentioned, the truck does look very impressive throughout. Powered by a large flathead four with dual reduction geared chain drive to the dually rear axle, the truck also has a dump bed that sounds to have been fitted in-period–it’s tilted via a PTO drive, and electric starting is notable as well. Best of all, the truck still seems to work for its keep, or at least for cool photo demos–check out the fully loaded bed. Find it here on eBay in Ludlow, Massachusetts with a $60k BIN. Special thanks to BaT reader Josh H. for this submission. See https://bringatrailer.com/2017/05/09/150k-restoration-1927-mack-model-ab-dump-truck/ |

Hawk 289 Swapped: $4500 Studebaker Dump Truck
This 1952 Studebaker 2R16A dump truck sports a very long stake bed and looks cool in period-correct dark blue over deep red. From what’s said we gather the truck has been at least partially restored, and the non-original but welcome V8 upgrade should make it a lot more usable than its original flathead straight-six. Find it here on Craigslist in Pepperell, Massachusetts for $4,500. See https://bringatrailer.com/2015/08/05/hawk-289-swapped-4500-studebaker-dump-truck/ |

1960 |
$20,000 |
From Bring A Trailer. November 12, 2014.
1960 Mack B61 Dump Truck
This 1960 Mack B61 dump truck wears an older, good-looking restoration and is said to run well. A diesel mill turns a 5-speed box and 2-speed rear end, the seller noting that it will drive 62 MPH at 2,000 RPM—likely right at the top of the engine’s rev range. We’d like to see it put back to work, and judging by bed markings it looks as if it might have been hauling very recently. Find it here on Hemmings in Lake Wales, Florida for $20k/negotiable. Special thanks to BaT reader Mike P. for this submission! See https://bringatrailer.com/2014/11/12/1960-mack-b61-dump-truck/ |

A Dec 30 2021 reply to Harry Kraemer post in the Triumph Facebook group about the mid 1990s Triumph Trident 900 still in the crate. The post read: Interestingly a 75 Triumph trident , still in crate, sold for , l think 18 k in the last year or so. Subject to the same rubber rot etc, one would think, as the more modern version. The 900 91 model will never have the rarity value or kudos, but if well stored l would pay a good4k,, possibly a more |

$20,600 |
SOLD FOR $20,600 ON 4/5/19 on Bring A Trailer. 1981 Honda CBX Supersport in Factory Crate. This 1981 Honda CBX 1000 was reportedly shipped to a vocational school when new, though it was never assembled and remains in the factory crate. It was featured on BaT in November 2018 and was previously sold described merely as a “1981 Honda Motorcycle.” The CBX was Honda’s top-of-the-line 2-wheel offering between 1978 and 1982, and this example comes from the first year of its only major redesign. Finished in Charcoal Grey with black and red accents, the bike came equipped from the factory with a full fairing, saddlebags, Pro-Link rear suspension, and internally-vented front discs. When assembled and running, power is provided by a 1,047cc DOHC inline-six paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The selling dealer acquired the bike last year, and it is now offered at no reserve with a clear Florida title. See https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1981-honda-cbx-1000cc/ |

Risky Business |
928 |
1979 |
$1,980,000 |
A 2021 sale by Barrett Jackson. 1979 PORSCHE 928 - "RISKY BUSINESS" MOVIE CAR. Hero car from Paul Brickman's 1983 film "Risky Business." Multiple 928s were used during the production of the film, but this car was the featured vehicle, and received the brunt of screen time and seat time from the cast. It is one of three cars driven on set, and one of two cars used during the film's signature chase scene that culminated in Tom Cruise, looking straight into the camera, declaring the German carmaker's slogan, "Porsche. There is no substitute." This 928 has resided in a climate-controlled environment in a private collection, where it has been meticulously cared for. Originally painted white, the 928 was refinished in gold for the movie. Following the film's production, the car returned to California, where it was discovered and returned to its original screen appearance. This 928 has been featured at numerous museums and displays. This car was a centerpiece at Porsche Cars North America for a year and was part of the Petersen Automotive Museum's influential Porsche Effect Exhibit. While at the Petersen, Chad McQueen - son of legendary racer and actor Steve McQueen - sat in this car. The 928 also features signatures from several members of the film's cast - including Bronson Pinchot ("Barry"), Joe Pantoliano ("Guido"), Curtis Armstrong ("Miles") and Francine Locke ("Shower Girl") - and comes with several images of the car on set covered in camera rigging equipment. Additionally, this 928 was the subject of the documentary, "The Quest for the RB928 (Risky Business 928)," in which filmmaker Lewis Johnsen chronicles his journey to track down this particular 928. It was in this documentary that "Risky Business" producer Jon Avnet stated that he taught Tom Cruise how to drive a stick shift in this very car. The 928 is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine and backed by a 5-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. This example wears 16-inch offset 5-hole aluminum alloy wheels and features a cork-on-cork leather interior. Extensive documentation accompanies the car. Batmobile Replica |
1966 |
$126,500 |
A sale by Barrett Jackson in 2020. The task of creating the original Batmobile was given to the famous custom car builder, George Barris. Barris was given only three weeks to produce the creation that would forever seal his name in the history books. There were just four original Barris-built Batmobiles. Batmobiles toured the country, making appearances at county fairs and race meets. This re-creation exhibition car was built by Jay Orhrberg Hollywood Cars. It was sold from a private collector in Los Angeles during the 1980s to a collector in Germany. It was then purchased by a private museum in 1991. This world traveler resided in the Cars of the Stars collection. Importantly, this re-creation was built on a 1959 Lincoln chassis with a hand-built steel body. It is finished in the classic Batmobile livery of black with red highlight lines and finished with Cragar wheels. The open cockpit is decorated with round windshields, and the interior is tailored with black seats with orange piping, black carpet, a Bat-phone mounted to the dash, custom steering wheel and Batman symbols on the doors. Powering this stunning Batmobile re-creation is a carbureted V8 engine coupled with an automatic transmission. Asking price seen online Dec 28 2021. 1947 International Harvester Other
This is an excellent truck in its original configuration with hydraulic dump bed. The carburetor had been changed sometime in the distant past by the dealership and the engine is an international harvester reman and has their reman tag attached to the block. It has a rebuilt factory mechanical fuel pump done 2 months ago. Also new plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, points and new 8 volt battery and regulator turned up to 8.75 volts. Seat frames need new cushions and upholstery. Tires will need to be replaced but four held air for 37 years while in the barn where I found it. Truck needs some tinkering to be road worthy and brakes are weak. Extremely solid original truck! See https://topclassiccarsforsale.com/international-harvester/649804-1947-international-kb7.html |
