History Trivia<\/strong><\/span>: Peter Morgan<\/a> of the Morgan automobile was born on November 3 1919.\u00a0 Did you know his daily driver was a Ferrari.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Peter Morgan was once asked why he drove a Ferrari for his private car. His reply was “A Morgan should always be your second car, and in any case, the Ferrari is the second best car on the world \u2013 after the Morgan, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inventor George B. Selden received US Patent No. 549,160 for his \u201croad engine\u201d (gasoline-powered automobile), granting him the monopoly on the concept of combining an internal combustion engine with a carriage. Although he never became an auto manufacturer himself, every other automaker would have to pay Selden and his licensing company a significant percentage of their profits for the right to construct a motorcar, even though their automobiles rarely resembled Selden’s designs. In 1903, the Ford Motor Company, which refused to pay royalties to Selden’s licensing company, was sued for infringement on the patent. Thus began one of the most celebrated litigation cases in history, ending in 1909 when a New York court upheld the validity of Selden’s patent. Henry Ford appealed the decision, and in 1911, the New York Court of Appeals again ruled in favor of Selden’s patent, but with a twist: the patent was held to be restricted to the outdated construction it described. In 1911, every major automaker produced vehicles that were significantly different from that described in Selden’s patent, and major manufacturers like the Ford never paid Selden another penny.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hila Gilday<\/a> earned her Private Pilot certificate earlier this month. The smile of success. Harry snapped this picture as he told her that she passed.\u00a0 Hila<\/a> is also an accomplished scuba diver earning an advanced certification to be able to dive with mixed gases.\u00a0 Being a world traveler, she has piloted general aviation aircraft in different countries and she had been scuba diving all around the world.\u00a0 Hila is also a talented artist. Congratulations Hila.<\/p>\n

Also in November Hi-Li Lev<\/a> passed her Commercial Pilot checkride with Harry.\u00a0 Hi-Li is quite the athlete.\u00a0 She is an accomplished bicycle racer and she has completed 4 Iron Man competitions in one year.\u00a0 Hi-Li celebrated each aviation milestone with the same wine, a bottle for each milestone.\u00a0 Hi-Li is also a very talented musician, she sings and plays a variety of instruments.\u00a0 Congratulations Hi-Li.\u00a0 \u00a0Check out her YouTube Channel here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
