{"id":341,"date":"2011-04-06T18:01:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-06T23:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/flymall.org\/blog\/?p=341"},"modified":"2011-04-06T18:01:00","modified_gmt":"2011-04-06T23:01:00","slug":"leaning-the-cessna-182","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flymall.org\/blog\/2011\/04\/leaning-the-cessna-182\/","title":{"rendered":"Leaning the Cessna 182"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some basic guidelines for leaning the Cessna 182T.<\/p>\n<p>Per Section 4 in the POH, Cessna recommends the following:<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Lean \u2013 50 Degrees rich of peak EGT<\/p>\n<p>Best Economy \u2013 Peak EGT<\/p>\n<p>Best Power \u2013 125 Degrees Rich<\/p>\n<p>Leaning using the G1000 Lean Display page.<\/p>\n<p>For normally-aspirated aircraft, when a cylinder peaks, its peak is represented by a hollow block on the EGT Bar Graph. The EGT readout for the peaked cylinder, indicated on the bar graph in light blue, appears directly beneath the bar graph. The system automatically switches to the first peak obtained and displays the temperature deviation from peak (\u0394PEAK) in degrees Fahrenheit (\u00b0F) below the EGT readout.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Selecting the Engine Leaning Assist function: <\/strong>From the Lean Display, press the <strong>ASSIST <\/strong>Softkey to identify the peak.
